A quadrangle that flooded every monsoon and was fenced off for half the year.
The fix was drainage, not planting: a French drain along the low edge, regraded levels, and a lawn specified for wear rather than for looks. Seating went in along the shaded side. It has stayed open through two rainy seasons since.
